Impact of Learning Institution Towards Housing Area Development From Ayer Lanas To Gemang In Jeli, Kelantan

Rapid developments on housing area occur when there is increasing number in population for a certain region. Migration is one of the factor that contribute in the increasing number of population for certain area and working places is one of the main reason of the migration. Educational institutions are one of the place offered employment and thus lead to an increasing amount of the people in a specific area. Development that recently occurred in Jeli particularly in terms of increasing number of the educational institutions made this study happened to determine the impact of educational institutions on the development of residential areas in Jeli. in addition to statements made by the authorities in the Jeli of the inadequacy of the house to accommodate people who work in this area because there are many of them live outside. The aim of this study is to identify the relationship between learning institution and the house development Jeli. Research site in this study is along the road from Ayer Lanas to Gemang. In this study, there are two main sections which are social and geographical study. Geographical study based on map that were produce such as land use map and map of housing distribution in research site by using ArcGIS and based on Google Earth and Bing Map. Geographical study in this study is about land use map and map of distribution of housing along the road from Ayer Lanas to Gemang. For social study, the data in this section was collected from the questionnaire. Based on the result, a few relationships between the variables are identified. Mostly, the respondent agreed that Jeli should have more development on housing area because there are learning institutions in this area. For the future, the government and the developer should increase the development on housing area especially from Ayer Lanas to Gemang to accommodate the demands not only from the staff and lecturer and teacher in learning institution but the demand also comes from the student.
