Abstract

This study conducted to determine the physical properties of Bambusa Vulgaris before undergoing the grave yard test. This study was also conducted to determine the natural durability of different age-group after 3 months grave yard test. laboratory tests conducted to determine the physical properties of the moisture content and density of Bambusa Vulgaris. In addition, the grave yard for 3 months was conducted to test the natural durability of Bambusa Vulgaris. Parameters tested in this study are the physical properties and loss weight after grave yard test for Bambusa Vulgaris from age 1 to 5 year-old. Resukts of this study show that the mean moisture content of age 1 to 5 year-old is in the range of 22.69 % to 70.37%. The mean density of age 1 to 5 is in the range of 0.61g/cm ³ to 0.83g/cm ³. In addition, the mean percentage weight loss of samples in month one from age 1 to 5 year-old is in the range of 4.61% to 13.57%. The mean percentage weight loss of samples in month two from age 1 to 5 year-old is in the range of 4.14% to 12.47%. Finally, the mean percentage weight loss of samples in month three from age 1 to 5 year-old is in the range of 6.09% to 14.08%.
