Abstract

This study involves profiling of the variation among the Or thosiphon stamenius Benth which were analysed using SDS-PAGE techniques. The sample from 16 regions were analysed for genetic variation for the due cause of geographical distribution. By the morphological status the plant did not show obvious rate of variation. The leaf plant sample was used as protein source to study the variation. The level of variation studied involves the aspects of Low molecular weight and high molecular weight analysing. The polymorphism deduced from the observed dissimilar protein bands of the 16 different location samples are 75% . the differences between white variety and purple variety were observed with the presences and absences of 2 high molecular weight protein bands. The variation in regards to geographical distribution were proven.
