Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the genetic variability in cultivated banana with and without Fusarium disease and wild species using isozymes as protein markers profiled by using sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) technique. Protein concentration of healthy and Fusarium attacked banana was compared using Bovine Serum Albumin as standard. A dendogram was conducted to learn the phylogenetic relationship among the banana samples by clustering the banana sample species that similar to one another than they are to other objects in different cluster. The wild type was the ancestor of all banana samples.
