The title of this project was known as "The general geology and petrography study of Gunung Reng and its surroundings, Jell District, Kelantan. The Study area Gunung Reng was located at the north-eastern part of Kelantan and Kelantan was located at the north-eastern part of Peninsular Malaysia. The study area has a dimension of 4km (width) x 4km (height) which has an area of 16km². The location of the study area shows longitude extend from 101 °43'44"E to 101°46'11"E and also latitude extend from 5°42'7"N to 5°44111"N. The objectives of this study were to investigate the general geology of the study area, to study the petrography of the study area and also to construct a geological map of the study area with the scale of 1:25000. The methods which were used include preliminary researches, field studies, sampling, laboratory investigations, data analysis and interpretations. As for the study of the petrography, thin sections of the rock samples were made and analyzed under the microscope for the mineral identification and texture. General geology which includes the lineament, crack analysis, fault analysis and also the petrography of the study area was discussed in the report. Tadoh fault which was a strike—slip fault was found at the study area and from the petrographic studies the lithology found in the study area consists of biotite garnet schist, marble, crystalline limestone, andesite. However, lithology boundary cannot be found on the field. Lastly, the geological map with was construct by inserting all the data collected from the field with the scale of 1:25000.
