Abstract

Marine environment has proven to be the source of extremely potential compound that have significant activities towards many diseases and as a sources of bioactive compounds. But most of the bioactive compound is derived from the algae, microalgae, shrimp and other crustacean rather than the mud crab which is known as tastiest crab and high nutrition yield.. This is the preliminary research about the mud crab. The part been research in this research is carapace of the male mud crab. The research are carried with antibacterial and antifouling assays. Antibacterial assay was done using Disc diffusion technique test. And antifouling was using M63 medium with natural environment of the mud crab, seawater. The crude was extracted by using three different solvent which have different polarity.
