Abstract

The study of geology and geoheritage of Jeli Hotspring at coordinate N 05°39'57.3", E 101°42'51.7" is to expose the geologic phenomena as a nature oriented tourism destination with intention to develop Jeli's area and conserve the virtuous of geoheritage value. Qualitative research of thermal spring in Jeli is done to complete the project activity in order to produce a detailed and comprehensive geological map of the study area, and to discover and evaluate the potential geoheritage and geotourism of Jeli Hot Spring. Based on the field surveillance, geological mapping, field work and rock sampling analysis are carried in order to identify either Jeli Hot Spring has the potential and excellence as a tourism site. It is clarify that the pattern of drainage area is subdendritic pattern and there is existence of morphology unit such as flood plain and mountain and the lithology of granite occur in the study area. Besides that, in this research, the positive lineament in the area is pointing towards the east because of the bigger force towards the mountain while the negative lineament in the study area is pointing towards the north where the main force is focus on the jointing or faults. Hot spring can be preserved by managed to conserve the production of uncontaminated hot water for public use and keeping the cleanliness of hot spring area.
