Malaysia is a developing country and growth together with it is a variety of infrastructure facilities such as highways and buildings. For the purpose of developing the infrastructure facilities to the users, many hilly areas have been excavated and trimmed. However, the impact of the surface excavated due to the development can sometimes cause slope instability. The objectives of this research are to produce geological map of Lakota, Jeli, Kelantan, to determine the rock strength by using Rock Mass Rating (RMR) and also to recommend the suitable rock slope reinforcement for Politeknik Jeli, Kelantan. The method used in carried out this research including identifying problem, literature review, data collection which are collected from fieldwork and government agency, analysis on petrography data and data of RMR parameter collected by using the RMR formula, the discussion of the RMR values calculated for the slope study and recommended suitable support based on guidelines for excavation and support (Bieniawski, 1989) and lastly conclusion and recommendation for future research. Based on the result mapping at Lakota, Jeli, the rock found is felsic rock with the aged of Triassic which believed that the rock are extended from Kemahang granite and Stong granite. The result of RMR value calculated at the slope study shows that the slope is stable and for the future the slope support such as rock bolts and shotcrete are recommended for the slope. Overall, the study had achieved the objectives and geological map of Lakota, Jeli, Kelantan are produced and the RMR data of the slope at Politeknik Jeli has been prepared.
