Abstract

Kampung Telekong is a local area which one of the sub districts of Batu Mengkebang in Kuala Krai, Kelantan. In past year, geological study of the proposed area is lack of information and limited public access. A mapping was conducted for the identifying their general geology, geomorphology and structural geology and then producing latest geological map of the area. A field observation was done in mapping through the accessibility quick data of Global Positioning System (GPS). The Kg. Telekong area is composed both of igneous and sedimentary rocks. The igneous rocks here are basic volcanic with phyroclastic (andesite) whereas interbedded sandstone, siltstone and shale for sedimentary rocks. The rocks can be observed outcropping at these areas .Most of the areas covered in flat surfaces based on geomorphology map. Both software of ArcGIS and stereonet were used in produicng the geological map and lineaments. Latest geological map reveals the geological information for the public and better development in future.
