Abstract

The development of Earth process may causes changes in the subsurface. For example, behaviour of Earth generate alteration of rock and soil properties. The changes in rock and soil characteristic affect the stability of slope then exposed to slope failure. The purpose of this research is to study the general geology geology and to produce a geological map of Kampung Berangan. The second purpose is to determine rock and soil properties of study area then to determine the stability of selected slope at the study area. Data and information of the study area was collected through field observation and sources data from government and private agencies. Five slope was selected in the study area for slope stability study in order to find out the factor of safety of slope. The output of this study using Method of Slice establish FOS value with value more than 1 for each selected slope. FOS was calculate by using formula created in spreadsheet. Rock and soil samples were taken from field for laboratory analysis such as Atterberg Limit Test, Porosity Test ,Compaction Test, and Crack analysis(Joint) and Point Load Test. Thin section method also used to verify type of rock. Based on the analysis, all selected soil and rock slope in the study area considered as stable mode.
