General geology and lithostratigraphy of Batu Jong, Kuala Krai, Kelantan

Geological information is important to provide database of lithology, drainage geomorphology, and etc of the area. Geological information is mostly used for evaluation of mineral resources to search for rocks and minerals that high potential to be in market. Moreover, it give information about structure and type of rocks to prevent geological hazards then the society can protect others life and made a brilliant decision to reduce number of geological hazard occurred in area. The research study in Batu Jong is limited and had done long time ago. The study is conducted to produce geological map. Besides that, this study is aim to study the lithostratigraphy of the study area and lastly to determine the depositional environment in study area by study the facies analysis. Analysation on the sample taken in the field can be done by thin section. The petrography method is to determine types of mineral composition in rock sample. The structure of study area is determined through plotting of the structure reading and the figure of rock deformation is shown by stereonet software. The fades that present in sedimentary log indicate the depositional environment of the study area is at shallow marine shelf. The area is at the division centre of shallow marine and deep marine.
