Abstract

The strategy to boost the level of crop productivity would be through the increase used of fertilizer. Application of inorganic fertilizer in agriculture is to increase the level of crop productivity but indirectly deteriorate the soil quality. Used of organic fertilizer become crucial in enhancing the soil parameters as it can improve microbial activity in soil. In this investigation, the effect of plant fertilizers on growth and productivity of Capsicum annuum L. and Spinacia oleracea were studied at the various concentrations of organic fertilizers. Vermicompost and vermiwash at three (25%, 50%. and 75%) different concentrations were used as the treatments. For the controls, chemical fertilizer and soil with no fertilizer were used. It was found that, the productivity level was high in Capsicum annuum L. and Spinacia oleracea treated with Vermicompost at 75% concentration. In the case of soil parameters such as NPK concentrations, it was found increased in concentration when treated with Vermicompost 75% and chemical fertilizer too. Thus, Vermicompost at highest concentration of treatment is the best fertilizer that can be used in planting Capsicum annuum L. and Spinacia oleracea.
