Abstract

Development of biopesticide for agricultural field in Malaysia and others Asia countries is important. This research study presents the potential herbal extraction for producing snail baits. The purpose of this study is to seek the herbal molluscicide as alternative to chemical molluscicide. From the result obtained in this study, the herbal which have molluscicidal activity were used include Serai Wangi, Tea Seed and Ubi Gadung. The mortality rate for Tea Seed is 90%, followed by Semi Wangi 40% and UN Gadung 13%. This indicate that Tea Seed and Serai Wangi have potential to become biopesticide. In conclusion, future development of agricultural field should stress on developing quality commercial formulations of herbal molluscicide for local market.
