Light-rail transit is one of the important public transportation that vital for civic life. Recently, many countries in the South East Asia have turned their attention towards developing and improving their public transport systems including Malaysia. As problems such as traffic congestions in cities, low mobility, and high individual costs of transport increasing high, it is vital to improve and develop the major public transport in Kuala Lumpur such as LRT to minimize these problems. This study is a public needs assessment and opinion survey in Kuala Lumpur. The study finds light-rail transit (LRT) in Kuala Lumpur are quiet reliable and convenient. Marketing of LRT services is constrained by certain environmental issues, particularly the socio-cultural and physical environments. The study is innovative from both an approach and implementation perspective and will help policy makers in Malaysia think about long-term strategies towards establishing LRT to consumer and reduce all the problems involve.
