Abstract

The number of women who venture into the field of business and entrepreneurship grows every year like mushroom growth every morning. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors contributing towards women inclination in business in Kota Bharu, Kelantan to venture into, grow and develop their business. Factors examined include motivation factor (source of income/survival), hobby or leisure time and earn more money and demographic details raging from age, races, status and education level. Questionnaires have been used as a method of data collection in this research and have been distributed to 50 women entrepreneurs in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Data collected was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 18 to get frequency, percentage and mean. Generally, the result of this research shows main factors that influence women in Kota Bharu, Kelantan to become entrepreneurs because of their hobby or leisure. Discussion on findings, conclusion and limitations of study are also included in the report.
