Abstract

Food is considered one of the most important factors for interaction among various ethnic, social and religious groups. However, it is a must to consumer especially for halal and good containing in food. Islam guides mankind in their way to differentiate halal and haram. Such guideline meant to give a better understanding and a clear explanation to both manufacturers and consumers in regards to aspects like food preparation, storage, packaging, managing and transportation. These rules and procedures have been adapted by JAKIM and state religious bodies throughout nation. The study tries to identify the consumer's awareness towards halal food by preferring these independent variable which is guideline and procedures applied for halal food, product labelling, premises, and food operation and processing. Besides, for these indications can conclude the strong relationship factors that influence to consumer's awareness towards halal food. Based on the result appeared, food operations and processing was the highest and strong relationship that related to consumer's awareness towards halal food. This study also prepared the other results that influence with the awareness of consumers towards halal food by constructing a set of questionnaire to gather information of this issue. About 130 questionnaires given to random respondents with different background and races as to measure those independent variables are suitable and relate consumer's awareness towards halal food. In addition, this study also uses descriptive analysis, reliability test and correlation Pearson to indicate the result for this research.
