Geology and assemblages of Benthic Foraminifera in Barru river area, at Barru regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia

The study area is located at Barru Regency, South Sulawesi province, Indonesia which more specific in Desa Palakka, Barru District. The purpose of this study is to update geological map of study area and to identify assemblages of Benthic foraminifera in study area in order to find out the information about Benthic foraminifera and paleobathymetry of depositional environment of Marl litholgy of Tonasa Formation in study area. To completed the project, some process have been conducted by did mapping and field work process. There have two type of lithology in the study area which are sedimentary lithology and igneous rock which divided into two; Volcanic breccias and intrusion rock. Based on result of the research of Benthic foraminifera, the depositonal environment of the study area is Middle Neritic zone — Outer Neritic zone with a depth is 30 — 200 m. And based of planktonic analysis that were found in this study area, can determined the age of the Marl lithology is Lower Eocene to Middle Miocene.
