Abstract

This final year project mainly focuses on geological mapping and delineation of groundwater zones at Kg. Pulai in Gua Musang district, Kelantan, Malaysia. Geological map of the study area is updated on scale 1125000 and three lithologies were identified which are Limestone, Tuff and Pyhllite. Furthermore, Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI) was done in order to delineate grotmdwater zones in the study area. The Wenner configuration method with 41 electrode and 200m length cable was used to study three lines which was line A, B and C, for collection of a resistivity data and the data is processed by using RESZDINV software. The pseudosection of electrical resistivity imaging clearly show that the study area has the sufficient groundwater potential zones which are classified as unconfined aquifers. This combination of both method which is geological mapping and electrical resistivity is a reliable and a good approach in identifying the delineating the groundwater zones.
