An experiment was conducted at the nursery of University Malaysia Kelantan Jeli Campus, Kelantan to investigate the effectiveness of sunflower (Helianthus annus L.) aqueous extract on the seedling growth of okra (Abelmoschus esculentum L.). The test solutions used as treatments were only distilled water for control and the sunflower aqueous extract (2%, 4%, 6% and 8%). The treatments, were applied on the soil surface when the tested plant at 4 to 6 leaf stage (2 weeks). All of the parameters were measured after 1 month of the treatment being applied. The sunflower aqueous extract at 8% concentration showed a significant different on stimulation of okra seedling growth in terms of plant height and shoot fresh weight with 266mm and 5.2g, respectively compared to control. Therefore, sunflower aqueous extract have a potential to stimulate the seedling growth of okra.
