The study of Collembola in Jeli and Bachok district was executed to provide a comprehensive taxonomic description and establish a baseline data of the Collembola in the vicinity. The substrate sampling was conducted by using the modified soil core sampler which is the steel pipe, extracting by using Tullgren funnel, fixing the Collembola by using 2.5% glutaraldehyde, 2% osmium tetroxide and 70% ethanol and drying by using the laboratory oven. In order to identify the morphological characteristics, the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was used throughout the study. The general morphology that can be seen clearly via the images was their body shape either globular or elongate. There were two major families of Collembola observed and identified in this study, namely family Brachystomellidae and the family Poduridae. The identification followed Freshwater Invertebrates of the Malaysian Region.
