Abstract

Plants consist of numerous benefits including as antibacterial agent since they are have various active compound. Recently, there is a growing concern due to the infection of bacteria which causing serious problem to the human health to advance antibacterial using environmental friendly material. Antibacterial was produced from essential oil of Piper belle in nanoemulsion since nanoemulsion has high absorption rate due to nano size of the particle. The aim of the present study was to develop nanoemulsion containing extract of Piper belle as antibacterial. A formulation of natural antibacterial nanoemulsion containing essential oil of Piper belle or natural nanobacterial was obtained from pseudo-ternary phase diagram. Essential oil of Piper belle was analysed using FTIR analysis and the size of nanoemulsion was confirmed by DSL method which showed the mean size of 24.81 nm, physical appearance which is bluish transparent colour and tyndall effect showed that nanobacterial was colloidal solution. The result showed that nanoemulsion containing essential oil of Piper belle has a potential as antibacterial agent due to the larger diameter of inhibition zone of the nanobacterial than blank nanoemulsion and essential oil of Piper belle. Preliminary result revealed that the natural nanobacterial is useful to increase absorption rate and it is needed for further study using different formulation of nanoemulsion to increase the effectiveness of nanobacterial.
