Abstract

Aring 4 is a study area located in Gua Musang, Kelantan. In this study, it will be focusing on geological mapping and also electrical survey for landslide. It is located in the longitude between 101°21'55" to 102°24'40" E and 4°5l’0" to 4°53’44” N. Sungai Lebir and Sungai Aring is near with the research area. Mapping conducted to produce the geological map of area Aring 4, Gua Musang with a specific dimension area of study which are 25km2 and to make detailed study of general geology and also doing survey of landslide. The method used in geological mapping including measurement of strike and dip and set of geological structure. In other hand, digitizing aerial photography method by using GIS and using sofiware stereonet and rose diagram for structural analysis calculation. There are six rock units that found in the research area. There are limestone unit, chert unit, shale unit, conglomerate unit, sandstone unit, and volcanic unit. The volcanic unit consist of andesite and also lapilli tuff in the research area. Landslide has the biggest influenced by the strength of the soil and also distribution of the rock. There are others factor that influence the stability of the landslide such as weathering and also water content. All of this factor can be detected by using the electrical resistivity survey which also can be known as ERI. The two landslides have been choosing. Every landslide has been conducted two lines to estimate the resistivity of the landslide, the first landslide will be conducted in horizontal and vertical line. Since it has been choosing two landslides, so it it will produced 4 lines in two landslides. The survey has been conducted in two kinds of methods. The method that used is Wenner and Pole Dipole configuration and the data was recorded by instrument of ABEM Terrameter SAS 4000. The result showed the sliding surface of landslide and also low resistivity value. These phenomena in landslide will indicate presence of high water content in the material which is the weak zone of the landslide.
