Abstract

Due to the concern that in the near future there will be a shortage in rubberwood sawn timber supply to meet the industry's demand, this research was, designed to investigate the effect of foliar applied fertilizer on the growth of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) budded seedlings. Budded seedlings were sprayed weekly starting at one week after replanting with different concentration of organic foliar applied fertilizer namely Ao, Ai, A-). Bo, B , B2 and Co (control). Results showed that as the budded seedling sprayed with foliar fertilizer, plant growth parameters were enhanced i.e. plant height, number of leaves, dry biomass and relative growth rate. The highest response was recorded with Ao although there were not much different with other concentration but still higher than control. It could be concluded that applying different concentration of organic foliar applied fertilizer improved Hevea brasiliensis growth and productivity.
