Abstract

Nowadays, the dielectric constant is widely used for the electronic industries. Some of the ceramic materials have the highest dielectric constant values but the applications are limited in their properties. The electroceramic of the BT powder was prepared by the solid state reaction. The raw materials that used in this experiment were barium carbonate (BaCO3) and titanium oxide (Ti02). The raw materials were weighted according the stoichiometry ratios to form the pure BT powder. The strontium was added with the mol percentage of 1%, 3%, 5% and 10 %. The powder were mixed and milled for 24 hours by using ball milling machine. Then, the powder was calcined at 1100°C for 24 hours. The phase structure and surface microstructure were analysed by using the Xray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM). The single phase of the BT powder was obtained at the calcination process. Based on dielectric result, the 5 % mol of strontium added gave the good dielectric properties.
