Abstract

Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) is one type of popular ornamental plants
flowers that have a relatively high economic especially at high land like Cameron Highlands,
Pahang and have good marketing prospects value in Malaysia. Requests cut flowers, and potted
chrysanthemum plants are increasing from year to year, in line with improving standards of
living. By to increase the request demands of chrysanthemum with the economic cost, the
experiment was conducted by using organic fertilizer application with different rates as a
replacement to chemical fertilizer. The study aims were to identify which rates of organic
fertilizer application give the excellent growth of chrysanthemum and also to recognise the
growth significant between organic fertilizer application and chemical fertilizer application.
The research was conducted in Mardi, Cameron Highland, Pahang. The study is based on
RCBD of four treatment with four replications. The four treatments including control
treatment, NPK Blue fertilizer (Control) (T1), (600g, 12:12:17:2), (T2) Harvester Amino
(600g, 5:5:5), (T3) Harvester Amino (900g, 5:5:5), (T4) Harvester Amino (1000g, 5:5:5). The
data result indicated on the parameter is needed. Among all the treatment, the performance
growth of Chrysanthemum by using organic harvester fertilizer treatment showing more
excellent plant growth performance comparing using control treatment which is NPK Blue.
This is means organic fertilizer also one of the fertilizers that can be used to fertilize the
chrysanthemum and give the best result of plant performance same as chemical fertilizer.
Organic fertilizer also has good characteristics in plant propagation of media such as soils are
dark in colour, lightweight, and have extremely high water holding capacities. The nutrient in
organic soil is greater than 60% contain organic matter which also accumulates from
temperature and moisture. Besides, the organic fertilizer cheaper and easy to get. These organic
fertilizer are also commonly used in the Agriculture sector. In conclusion, organic fertilizer can
be used for plant fertilize and propagation in order to get the excellent plant growth the same
as chemical fertilizer.
