Abstract

Domestic wastewater contains various types of inorganic and organic contaminants, which can effects the ecosystems and human health. To avoid these problems the seaweed treatments was used to remove the contaminants in the waste water. The use of seaweed in the water treatments is to know the effectiveness of the seaweed as bio adsorption. The seaweed also can improve the water quality to the better standard. The analysis of waste sample from the Taman Pinggiran UMK and UMK café is to know if the river still followed the National Water Quality Standard Malaysia (NQWS) or not. The seaweed treatments for the water sample are to know how the seaweed reacts with different sources of waters. The results demonstrated that the removal of inorganic contaminants was achieved and this showed the potential of seaweed as bio adsorption. The abundance seaweed in the ocean can be used as water treatments due to low cost and environmental friendly.
