Abstract

Mushroom industry is one of the blooming industries in Malaysia and has been successfully captivated a lot of attention to be explored as a business opportunity.Due
to this,the main objective of the study is to see how the fried mushroom business affects economy,consumptions and opportunity in Pengkalan Chepa,Kelantan.This research involved interview sessions with the fried mushroom business owners within Pengkalan Chepa area.The findings from this research are that the fried mushroom business does have the effect on the economy of people in Pengkalan Chepa.Besides,it showed an increased of consumption and demand of consumers.A SWOT analysis is
done to compare mushroom business with the keropok lekor business.The risks and challenges of the fried mushroom business are also highlighted.As a general conclusion,the fried mushroom businesses do affect the economy,consumptions and opportunities in Pengkalan Chepa area in Kelantan.
