The purpose of this research is to identify the attributes of Green Building Index in traditional public building, the Masjid Kg. Laut in Nilam Puri, Kelantan. As time passing by, Green Building Index (GBI) has been developed and continued to be popular among new building development, at the same time, the old and traditional building are oppositely forgotten. As every single old building has its own history and contribution to the community where it‟s belong, this research is to investigate whether it has the attributes of Green Building Index (GBI). To achieve the objective of this study, we conducted a mix method methodology in our research. A theoretical framework was set in order to conduct the study elaborately. Then, we rechecked the findings if it was parallel with Green Building Index (GBI) to validate the attributes. In the end of the research we found some attributes of Green Building Index which are has previously been applied to the case study; traditional Masjid Kampung Laut. Briefly, we can conclude that traditional building actually brought some of the Green Building Index qualities, which should be as an inspiration to the modern buildings. At the same time, the building should be protected and conserved respectively.
